Victorian trousers

My husband always complains that I don’t make him anything. So I started this trial pair of trousers from a Simplicity pattern. I had to do little modification actually. There are a few things I’ll change in the next pair but so far so good.

Before hemming:

I was making the hem when my baby, currently dressed in his Star Trek Next Generations onsie, crawled up the stairs. It was too cute watching dad in his Victorian clothing follow him up. I have to alter the suspenders because they are stretched out. I need to find a good source for some period suspenders with leather.
