Hairy Bow cape
I made this quick little cape to wear over my ballgown for Royals day at Dickens fair this year. It is a simple 3/4 circle silk with an inset of striped fabric. The stripe came with a blue stripe which I hand colored with fabric markers to coordinate with the green. A had some of this green silk ribbon from another project and rabbit fur to make the tufts. I took some of my husband’s hair trimmings and made a braided hair brooch this year. Not finely done enough but a good first try I think. I’ll have to get some glass covered brooches perhaps to make something more delicate and that will last since this is just glued into an old brooch setting that lost its stone.
