Cleaning: photo and garage storage
Yes I’m alive and working on many projects. Life has revolved around cleaning (and planting). I know I haven’t been very posty lately. There is a good reason. No posts have been forthcoming because I am currently overhauling how I store and upload my photos. Unfortunately they are now on a server I can’t access on my laptop *yet*. I’m also working on getting a remote desktop up in my office so I can post from either the laptop in the workroom or my office in the house. The details are coming together slowly.
Right now I was downloaded to my laptop and after 14,622 photos it decided I was trying to kill it. The photos were then later uploaded to the server as well as to a external hard-drive from my husbands computer. Now I”m working on skipping the “uploading to the laptop” step and accessing them directly from the server. This will help recover a lot of space on mac. In the end I hope to make this work smoothly. The first was quick and efficient from a posting standpoint but it was cumbersome in the long haul to download items in multiple places and there was always the risk of erasing the images before they were archived. So archive first will be the rule.
Sometimes things get messier before they get cleaner. Cheers to the mess and I’ll be hoping to get it cleaned up promptly. Check back to see what I’ve been up to and what guest seamstresses have accomplished in the past few months. Those of you visiting have seen the workroom transform. Now the garage in getting an overhaul this week….
