Art of the Shoemaker: coming soon in Sept. 2009
Texas Tech University Press announced their latest titles from the CSA series including M. de Garsault’s 1767 Art of the Shoemaker, An annotated Translation. I’m looking forward to reading it even if I don’t currently have any skills in shoe making.
At Western costume I briefly met the shoemaker who explained that while his five brothers are all shoemakers none of their children are :( That was so sad to hear, but all too rather typical these days I’m told. Those of you who makes shoes really impress me!
