DC & Williamsburg
Ann and I are flying out tomorrow to go pack up 1930s furniture to ship home to my 1928 home.
The style should suit the place. They are from my husband’s grandparents who recently moved and had to leave behind furniture that just would not fit in their new place. I’m extremely happy to adopt family furniture :)
Ann decided after our visit to Italy & meeting a lady from Williamsburg that she really wanted to go back. So we are driving 3+ hours for the day after we finish up packing and get the furniture onto the moving truck.
Whee….. And a whole house to continue unpacking when I get back. The electrical work will be done in the workroom by the time I get back. So just the windows to go.
Sounds like fun. I would love to have some old furniture but at the same time, want comfortable furniture….We’ve got my husband’s grandmother’s sofa which means it’s probably around the late 40’s early 50’s and it needs to be reupholstered (thanks to cats) but when we have the money, I want to search for a more appropriate material than what is on there now.
Have fun with your packing and trip.
We are here and boy is it hectic! It is hard to decide what to take. They have a late 30s couch that I have no room for that is tempting but it isn’t comfortable. I like our currently couches… Tough decision I need to make by 9am.
Everything is packed and now I’m off to Colonial Williamsburg :) for tonight and part of tomorrow. I wish I could have had a longer trip.
