Wool Middles Renaissance gown

The skirt and bodice of this outfit are complete. I’ve included a few photos of my smallest mannequin wearing the gown but she doesn’t do it justice at all! My client is much smaller and shaped correctly by a corset.

The skirt has been designed with a 2″ overlap at the front for when the corset is laced fully closed. The skirt has 7 hidden hook and eyes to shut the front completely if no underskirt is to be worn. With a wool underkskirt the band is open further to accomodate the thickness of the underskirt and thereby creating an opening in center front for the underskirt to show. A front stomacher will be made that can be pinned on center front to hide the grommets when wanted.

This project will grow more in the upcoming year. A burgundy wool underskirt and possibly sleeves have been discussed as well as a partlet and and and… You get the idea :) Want to see more details?
